COLON HYDROTHERAPY
A HEALTHY MOVE

Colonic Irrigation in Leeds
  • THE COLON
The colon, large intestine or bowel is situated in the abdomen and forms the last part of the digestive tract. It is approximately 5 feet long and 2 ½ inches in diameter. It carries out a number of vital functions including the completion of the digestive process involving absorption of water and nutrients such as vitamins K and portions of the vitamin B complex, eliminating food and other body wastes, as well as protecting us from infection and disease. This is achieved with the help of billions of friendly bacteria, which inhabit the colon. However the delicate balance of this internal ecosystem can very easily be disturbed by a number of factors including stress, pollution, poor diet, certain drugs, smoking and exposure to toxic substances.

  • WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A COLONIC?
Waste material that has remained in the colon for some time (impacted faeces, dead cellular tissue, accumulated mucous, parasites etc) creates several problems:

    • The material is toxic (poisonous)
    • The toxins can re-enter the blood stream when water is reabsorbed from the colon which makes us feel tired, weak and ill
    • Impacted materials impair the colon’s ability to absorb nutrients
    • A build up of material on the colon wall can inhibit muscular action causing sluggish bowel movements, which then leads to constipation and other bowel disorders.

  • WHAT IS INTESTINAL TOXICITY?
It is a common condition caused by toxic material circulating in the body. Symptoms include headaches, backache, constipation, fatigue, bad breath, and body odour. Irritability, confusion, skin problems, abdominal gas, bloating, and diarrhoea.

  • HOW CAN HYDROTHERAPY HELP?
Colon Hydrotherapy, unlike the use of laxatives, is not habit forming and actually improves the tone of the colon. In a 45 minute session approximately 60 litres of warm purified water is used to gentle flush the colon. Through appropriate use of abdominal massage, the colon hydrotherapist is able to work loose and eliminate large amounts of toxic waste and impacted faecal matter that is rubbery in appearance.

  • IS IT SAFE?
Yes. The water is introduced at a low gravitational pressure, so there is no danger of bowel perforation. All sessions are carried out by nurse practitioners that are registered colon hydrotherapists. A consultation is carried out before any treatment where the process is explained and any questions you have can be answered. All equipment used is either disposable or cleaned with hospital-approved disinfectants.

  • WILL ONE TREATMENT CLEAR MY COLON?
Almost never. The faecal matter has become impacted over years and is impossible to remove in one session. The hydrotherapist will be able to advise you of how many sessions will be required after your first session.

  • HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The first session is £60 and any following sessions are £50. The clinic can only accept cash or cheques.
