OracleOracle – Leeds’ largest waterfront venue NOW OPEN The former Tetley Brewery Wharf building is currently undergoing somewhat of an extreme makeover that will without question put ‘South of the River’ firmly on the style bar map. Now open, Oracle is a stunning split level 600 capacity 360 degree glass space with outdoor seating over looking the River Aire for over 100 people. Launched by Stephen Hawkins whose 12 years experience in the city include previous projects such the cult Indie Joze to the consistent Townhouse and Party Planning aficionado Deborah De-Vittoris, of ‘Hairy Lemon’ who has over 6 years experience of the Leeds party scene and has built up an enviable database of contacts ranging from the ‘Movers and Shakers’ to footballers and soap starlets! “The Leeds bar and club scene has rocketed over the last 5 years, due to our vast knowledge and experience of the marketplace we strongly believe we know what the people of Leeds want and that we can confidently deliver it.” Says Stephen Hawkins Oracle has two distinct areas spread over two the floors that will essentially appeal to 2 very different markets. The downstairs bar is a light and airy bar decorated in natural textures and tones to create a cutting edge space that will offer speedy and efficient service in an extremely customer focused and welcoming environment. Evolving from day to night, midweek to weekend the venue will be the perfect location for business lunches, twilight post work drinks or a night out with friends. Oracles unique features such as the 360degree accessible island bar, twin female toilet cubicles and fabulous outdoor, waterfront drinking and eating dining area without doubt put Oracle on the map this summer. In contrast to the breezy environment of the ground floor Oracle First Floor will be a member’s only space which will be a Mecca for Leeds’ glitterati. Aimed at a glamorous, 25+ crowd who enjoy the finer things in life membership will certainly be coveted yet accessible as no annual fee will be charged. Partner Deborah De Vittoris states "after years of experience we feel we know what customers want and that there is a distinct gap in the market for a luxury style bar. We plan to have the most prestigious champagne list in the city and we will go over and above what people expect by offering elements such as table service and a shuttle/private taxi service for members. It the extra little things and attention to detail that all add up to create a wow factor and leaving people wanting more.” Intimate lounge seating, table waiting service and sumptuous décor will create a decadent ambiance like no other. The interior features designs statements that are almost anachronistic, such as baroque shaped chaise lounges covered in bright Indian paisley fabric. Providing an alternative to the traditional watering holes of Call Lane and Greek Street, Oracle First Floor offer no apologies for their exclusivity but will steer away from the pretentious self importance that have seen other members only bars fail in Leeds Oracle will not be all style and no substance, and the food offer at Oracle will be testament to that. Oracle is officially the first eatery in the entire North to bring us the gourmet burger concept. The emphasis will be on using fresh, organic ingredients and wherever possible locally sourced produce. The Thai Gourmet Burger as an example is made with 100% Aberdeen Angus Beef and toped with a spicy stay sauce, salad and relish – a snip at just £4.50. A plethora of veggie options and salads balances out the menu as does the fantastic Tapas menu on offer to the upstairs member’s lounge guests. Sundays at Oracle will become an institution as hoards of city dwellers walk the stone throw’s distance to indulge in a superb brunch menu of bacon butties, fresh fruit platters, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon etc, perfect for lazy hazy Sundays spent poring over the papers. Good service at Oracle is paramount and good service comes only from great staff. Enter Mat Buckingham (Ex Flannels Restaurant and Browns) as General Manager, Devi Zion (ex Momo’s London) as cocktail aficionado, Armi Matharu (Malmaison Leeds) as floor manager and Sarah Windsor (ex Townhouse) as food manager.
